The intention of starting this website and YouTube channel was to show how we are changing all we know on how to live, to revert back to the old ways of living, which was natural and simply.
The world is so caught up on convenience that they have lost what it means to live a healthy, simple life where you rely on what you have and make it work. This introduction to convenience items has made us lazy and forget what it means to work for what we want. But, ill tell you something, its not doing our bodies any good with all these premade, pre-prepared foods, and items. All the additives and preservatives that are going into our food these days is damaging our bodies and most people don’t even know it. Too many chemicals, sugar, oils and names of things cannot even pronounce or even know what they are. Look I could go on about this, but this is not what this blog is about.
I’m just wanting to share with you how our family has started to make a few changes in our household to ensure that we are doing the best for our health and bodies. Some of the simple changes we have made, which I will go more in depth into in their own separate blogs, include making our own bread, making meals from scratch and trying to stay away from packet meals, making my own nut milk, making our own kids snacks, having chicken so not needing to buy eggs from the shops, swapping out plastics with glass and there are more to come.
I am also working on making all of our dishwasher tablets, clothes washing powder, shower products, lotions and lip balms from scratch. So keep an eye out on my website and YouTube channel for when I share about that. In the meantime, we are focusing on what we can do differently when it comes to the foods we put in our mouths and how it can benefit us. Obviously having a garden where we can grow all our own veggies is a great place to start, where we can ensure that they are organic and fresh. We have also started buy our meat in bulk where it ends up being cheaper and is also grassfed, which is a win win! These few changes are a good place to start, and when you do start making a few changes, the rest will follow. We started with getting chickens and then making my own bread and getting a sourdough starter, and I haven’t looked back since.
Making things at home from scratch can be time consuming at first, but then it just becomes a normal thing with many benefits. My body feels so much better already just making these few changes with bread, milk, fresh eggs and veggies. I don’t get bloating or stomach pains nearly as often as I used to, in fact its rare if I do, unless I decide to have something out of convenience, and then I really feel it. Its also super satisfy making things from scratch, knowing that you made it all yourself, that you are able and capable. As a mum, I want what’s best for my family and I’m willing to do what it takes.
